German Pancakes with Caramel butter syrup
We used to make these a lot growing up. I even remember making these in Home Economics in Junior High.
In a 9X13 inch glass baking dish spread apart 3 Tbsp. butter. Place in a 450 degree oven until butter is melted. Just a few minutes.
In a large bowl combine:
7 eggs
1 C. milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 C. flour
Whisk together. Pour over melted butter in 9X13 pan. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until hills and valleys form.
Let cool a bit while making syrup.
Caramel butter Syrup
In a pot add:
1 1/2 C. water
1 C. white sugar
1 C. brown sugar
1/4 C. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Boil for 5-7 minutes.
