I wanted to try something new the other day. So, I decided to buy some wanton wrappers. This is what I made. It was a huge hit with my husband!
In your food processor or blender add:
(if you don't have one, just use a knife and chop up ingredients really fine)
1/2 C. cabbage
1/3 C. carrots
2 green onions
1/4 C. mushrooms, optional
3 Tbsp. cilantro
3 garlic cloves
1 Tbsp. red pepper
Pulse until super fine.
Then add:
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 Tbsp. oil
Lay out each wanton wrapper and wipe the edges with water.
Place 1 tsp of filling in the center and fold over so it makes a triangle.
Press around the edges with a fork.
Fry on both sides in a pan with 1 Tbsp. oil.
Place on a plate until all are done.
Put all back in pan. (I think it made about 15 or so).
Put 1/4 C. water on top.
Cover with lid and steam on medium low for about 10 minutes.
Sauce:
1/3 C. vinegar
1/4 C. soy sauce
1/2 C. water
1 tsp. oil
Mix well and dip wantons as you please.
