Biscuits and Gravy

This is one of my husbands favorite meals. He grew up having this. So, he has an emotional tie to it. :)
In a large bowl add:
2 C. flour (I do 1 C. white, 1 C. wheat)
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/2 C. grated cheese
1/3 C. milk
1/2 tsp. Italian Seasoning

Mix together well. Roll out on a floured surface. Cut with biscuit cutter and place about 1 inch apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.

Gravy
In a pan on the stove cook 1 1b. ground sausage, turkey, or beef. Drain off excess grease until there is about 3 Tbsp. left
Add:
1 garlic clove, crushed and diced
1/4 C. onion, chopped
Cook for 5-10 minutes.
Add:
2 Tbsp. flour, just sprinkle it over top
Cook for about 2 minutes
Add:
2 C. milk
Seasoning. I like to use Mrs. Dash.

Stir until thickened. Serve over biscuits or toast.
Serve with a salad or green beans.
