Mongolian Beef over rice
We had some steaks in our freezer I wanted to use up. So, I decided to make this. It tasted delish.
Cut steak into thin long strips. Put in a bag or bowl with marinade and mix well.
Marinade:
3 Tbsp. vinegar
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. oil
1 tsp. brown sugar
4 tsp. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. chili powder
Place in fridge while preparing vegetables.
Start rice. I just follow the directions on the back of the package. For this recipe I used brown rice.
Vegetables:
1/2 C. carrots, chopped
1/2 C. peas, left in eatable pods
3 garlic cloves, crushed and chopped
1/2 C. green peppers, chopped
1 C. broccoli, chopped
3 green onions, chopped
Get meat out of fridge. In a frying pan on the stove heat up 2 Tbsp. oil and add meat. Cook until done and browned, not pink. Add veggies.
When vegetables are tender spoon over rice.
Sprinkle with red pepper flakes (Optional).
